St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center v. MRI AssociatesIdaho State Court, Fourth Judicial District BWS attorneys were retained to defend claims brought against a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services partnership (MRI Associates) by a former partner (St. Alphonsus) for money allegedly owed as a result of St. Alphonsus’s withdrawal from that partnership. BWS attorneys countersued St. Alphonsus on behalf of MRI Associates for breach of fiduciary duty, unfair business practices, wrongful dissociation, and civil conspiracy, arising out of St. Alphonsus’s decision to support a competitor of MRI Associates while St. Alphonsus was still a partner in MRI Associates. An Idaho jury awarded MRI Associates $63.5 million on its counterclaim—the largest jury verdict in Idaho’s history. |
