AMEC v. NuWestU.S District Court for the District of Idaho BWS Attorneys were retained to defend claims brought by an international construction and design firm (AMEC) against Nu-West, a phosphate processor, for millions of dollars allegedly owed as a result of the construction of an expansion to an industrial phosphate processing facility. BWS attorneys countersued AMEC alleging that the construction costs for the expansion exceeded budget because the project was mishandled. After it was shown by BWS counsel that the contract administrator on the project had been soliciting kickbacks for information relative to certain subcontractor bids, AMEC dismissed its claims and settled the case by paying Nu-West $14 million. |
