Jury Awards $52 million to MRIA in its Case Against St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center

A  12 person jury unanimously found in favor of MRIA, on all its claims against St. Alphonsus. This is the second time this case has been tried and the second time a jury has, unanimously, found in favor of MRIA. 

Claims against St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center included breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, breach of the covenant of good faith & fair dealing, interference with contractual relations and civil conspiracy. 

In 2007, a Fourth Judicial District Court in Ada County awarded MRIA $64 million in damages. This amount was reduced to $36 million and was overturned/sent back for retrial by the Idaho Supreme Court in 2009. 

This time the jury awarded MRIA $52 million.
